Mahila Shakti Bachat Yojana
The scheme “Mahila Bachat Saving Yojana” was launched by the Sanatan Co-operative Credit Society Ltd.
Key Features of the Scheme:
- Provides attractive and secured investment options to all ladies.
- An account can be opened for a tenure of three years.
- Interest rate: 7.5% per annum, compounded quarterly.
- Minimum deposit: ₹1,000/- (in multiples of ₹100), maximum ₹3,00,000/-.
- Flexibility in investment and partial withdrawal up to 50% of eligible balance during the tenure.

- Fixed 7.5% interest compounded quarterly.
- Tenure: three years.
- Quarterly compounding of interest credited to the account.
Eligibility
- Must have Indian citizenship.
- Only for women and girl children.
- Minor account can be opened by guardian.
- No upper age limit.
- Single-holder type account only.
Deposits
- Multiple accounts allowed with a gap of 3 months between openings.
- Minimum deposit: ₹1,000/- (in multiples of ₹100).
- Maximum deposit: ₹2,00,000/- per account holder.
Payment on Maturity
- Matures after three years from date of deposit.
- Fractional amounts rounded to nearest rupee.
Withdrawal from Account
- Up to 50% withdrawal allowed after one year but before maturity.
- For minor accounts, guardian may withdraw for the minor’s benefit.
Application Process
- Visit nearest Post Office Branch or Sanatan CCSL.
- Collect or download application form.
- Fill out the form and attach required documents.
- Fill declaration and nomination details.
- Submit with deposit amount or cheque.
- Receive certificate as proof of investment.
Premature Closure
- Allowed only in case of death of account holder or extreme compassionate grounds.
- After 6 months, closure allowed with 2% lower interest than scheme rate.
Documents Required
- Passport size photograph
- Identity proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card)
- Pay-in-slip with deposit amount or cheque
- Valid ID/address proof: Passport, Aadhaar, Driving License, Voter ID, NREGA Job Card, or NPR-issued letter.
